Parade and ticket information

The Loxton Mardi Gras committee have been working hard to ensure that the annual Mardi Gras parade goes ahead on Saturday 27th February.

As part of their Covid Management Plan they have decided to move the event away from Loxton’s main street. This year the parade will be run around the Loxton oval #2 (East side of the main football oval). The features of this location include:-
* Covid plans in place

* Secure family lawn areas to view the parade

* Parade and announcements

* Bands

* Food

* Market stalls

* Disabled parking

Celebrating 64 years in 2021

To be compliant with Covid rules, the parade has to be held in a fenced off area and entry is by a free ticket which has to be pre-registered – the same as applied to the Adelaide and Murray Bridge Christmas pageants.

This is why the Loxton oval #2 area has been chosen.

In turn this means that the committee is seeking more volunteers from the community to assist with manning the gates and other setup tasks to ensure the smooth running of the event on 27th February.

FREE ENTRY TICKETS

Early in February we will be introducing an online ticketing system for this year's Grand Parade so that we can comply with Covid regulations.

We will advertise in The Murray Pioneer, our FaceBook page and on this website when this is ready.

You will need to pre-register online to secure a free ticket - please make sure you have a ticket for each adult, child and infant.

We are required to limit the number of people attending in order to comply with the Covid Management Plan. If you don't pre-register and just turn up on the day you might still get in - but, once we reach the number of permitted people in the audience then we are not allowed to admit any more.

Pre-registration is simple, quick & FREE. You just go to the ticketing system via our website (in February) and enter the usual details.

Your tickets will then be immediately emailed to you.

Please print your tickets - or show them on your smartphone.

On arrival at the main entry gate on Bookpurnong Terrace you just show your tickets to the gate staff who will quickly scan and confirm your entry.

You will of course still have to scan the QR code or manually write your contact tracing details - this is a separate SA Health requirement.
