Ambassadors

The 2019 Loxton Mardi Gras Ambassador was Jo Pontt sponsored by Rotary Club of Loxton. A special commendation was awarded to Lukas Lowery sponsored by Loxton Lions Club after the judges expressed their difficulty in deciding a winner.

Jo Pontt was named the 2019 Charity Ambassador. The Ambassadors raised $20,434.05

Ken Jaeschke who was sponsored by Loxcare Inc is our 2019 Senior Ambassador. Our Senior Ambassadors this year raised $8,161.43

The Junior Ambassadors raised $2,987.25 and Oscar Burgemeister sponsored by M.A.D. Bar & Bistro was named their 2019 representative.

A huge congratulations and thank you to all our 2019 Ambassadors and their sponsors.

The "Strawberry Fete and more" held by the Mardi Gras Committee at Alawoona to help defray running costs also raised $917.00

Overall a total of $32,519.73 was raised.

The Parade float competition winners were:

Most outstanding float prize $500: Loxton Lutheran School

Best Ambassador float $250: Lisa-Marie Perre sponsored by Loxton Pharmacies

Best themed float $250: Abbey Hughes sponsored by AJ First Aid

Best School float $250: St Albert's Catholic School

Most humorous float donated by Growers Services $250: SACWA Loxton District Branch

Best Rural Community Float $250 donated by Ronco Motors: Alawoona Strawberry Float

The parade consisted of about 60 floats which were preceded by about 35 Vintage and Classic vehicles  making for a wonderful atmosphere. A range of harvesting methods over the ages from hand tools to today's massive machinery by Loxton Museum of Agricultural Technology was also included.

I loved my stall site and had a good response and want to save it for next year please. I felt that the parade was a great community event and I joined in waving to everyone even though I didn't know anyone! Fantastic and well done! T L
