About Us

Loxton celebrated its 63rd Mardi Gras in 2020 with the theme "PLAY"

The Mardi Gras is a family fun day, with money raised going towards community projects.  Most years the event raises over $20,000.

Loxton Mardi Gras is a weekend of family fun in one of the Riverland's friendliest towns. Come for the giant parade and support our local community! Take time to check out the themed window displays by businesses.

Highlights on the Saturday include a parade of floats (usually more than 50) and bands, and the crowning of the Ambassadors.

From 5pm, there are exciting challenges presented by the Nippys Loxton Gift, featuring top SA and interstate professional athletes.

Visit the award winning Loxton Pioneer Playground and the Loxton Historical Village.

Sunday morning at the Rotunda we had an appreciation service honouring local volunteers and a
chosen SA Military Nurse. A presentation was made to the 2020 flagbearers Eric & Lois Rathjen and the CFS Volunteer Association.

This is a family event not to be missed. Come along and support your community.   Be involved or just watch from the sidelines. Bring your family and friends and have a great time.

Did you know...?

The Loxton Mardi Gras originally started because the town wanted to raise some money to put in an Olympic sized swimming pool.  Now successfully 63 years later the Loxton Mardi Gras is still supporting local community groups with grant money.
