Loxton Mardi Gras
Rain? What rain?
Don’t worry, the parade isn’t scared of a little weather. It goes ahead rain, shine, or “is that even rain or just a polite mist?”
At the moment, the BOM is only hinting at a 50% chance of about 1 mm on Friday and Saturday — barely enough to make a duck blink — but we always encourage a bit of smart planning:
-
Give your float a good night’s sleep under a tarp or plastic sheet.
-
If there’s a sprinkle in the morning, groups just need to arrive a bit earlier to uncover and do any quick touch‑ups.
-
Judges know the drill — no one gets marked down for what the sky decides to do.
At the end of the day, it’s all about showing up and being part of an iconic community event. A little weather has never stopped Loxton before.
